LAKE VERNON
Lake Vernon is another classic Muskoka cottage country lake. It is busy and is well developed with cottages given the many access points to the lake and its proximity to Huntsville. Vernon Shores is a particularly cottagey area at the west end of the lake. Etwell Road to the south and Ravenscliffe Road to the north take you around the lake with numerous service roads going right into the lake.
There are three public boat launches. One near the far southeast end of the lake and two at the west end of Lake Vernon. Hutcheson Beach is a popular location in the summer. The Tawingo Nordic cross country ski trails are near the northwest end of the lake of of Ravenscliffe Road. If you are looking for a great cottage lake, Lake Vernon is one of Muskoka’s finest. Fish: smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, pike, lake trout.
